Fort Meade
Welcome to Fort George G. Meade, Maryland, dedicated to providing quality support to service members, DoD civilian employees and their families. Our primary mission is to provide a wide range of support to more than 78 partner organizations from all five services and to several federal agencies including the National Security Agency, the Defense Information School, the Defense Courier Service, and the U.S. Army Field Band.
Laurel, MD
Laurel is a city about 14 miles northeast of Washington, D.C., reaching into three separate counties: Anne Arundel County, Maryland, Howard County, Maryland, and Prince George's County, Maryland. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 19,960. Laurel is home to a large racetrack.
Fort Meade is located almost midway between the cities of Baltimore and Washington, D.C., near the communities of Odenton, Laurel, Columbia and Jessup.
Fort Meade is virtually a city in itself. It consists of 5,415 acres with 65.5 miles of paved roads, 3.3 miles of secondary roads, and about 1,300 buildings. There is a modern exchange mall, bank, credit union, post office, chapels and many other facilities. Whatever your interests--crafts, sports, movies--all are available here.
Visit the many historical sites of Annapolis, or tour the White House in Washington, D.C. See an event by one of the many local sports teams, such as the Baltimore Orioles, the Baltimore Ravens, the Washington Redskins, Washington Nationals or the Washington Wizards in action.
