Fort Myer
Fort Myer, VA traces its origin as a military post to the Civil War. Since then it has been an important Signal Corps post, a showcase for Army cavalry, and site of the first flight of an aircraft at a military installation and the first military air fatality. Fort Myer is the preeminent installation showcasing army programs and standards, its ceremonial traditions, and the rich history of the installation in a 21st century environment
Arlington, VA
Arlington County is a county located in the U.S. state of Virginia, directly across the Potomac River from Washington, DC. Originally part of the District of Columbia, by an act of Congress July 9, 1846, the area south of the Potomac was returned (retroceded) to Virginia effective in 1847. It is unofficially a part of the greater Washington DC metropolitan area.
