Kirtland AFB
Kirtland AFB is located in the southeast quadrant of Albuquerque, N.M., adjacent to the Albuquerque International Sunport. The base is the third largest installation in Air Force Materiel Command. The installation is home to the 377th Air Base Wing, Kirtland AFB's host organization. The mission of the wing is to provide world-class munitions maintenance, readiness and training, and base operating support to approximately 76 Federal government and 384 private sector tenants and associate units.
Albuquerque, NM
Albuquerque is home to the University of New Mexico and Kirtland Air Force Base as well as Sandia National Laboratories and Petroglyph National Monument. Nestled between the Sandia Mountains and the Rio Grande, Albuquerque's climate is usually sunny and dry, averaging no more than 10-12 inches of precipitation per year.
